I’m definitely not a fan of busy covers – in my opinion, the minimalist/simplistic covers are much more effective at representing a key theme or idea! Thanks for commenting. 🙂

Great list, Brooke. I totally agree with you on minimalistic covers. 🙂 I do sometimes like faces on the covers though, while it is fun to imagine for yourself what a character would look like it could also be fun just picturing the character as the cover model, and it can help make the story a little more enjoyable without trying to create a picture of a character from scratch.

I do have exceptions to the trends I dislike, although I didn’t include them in this TTT. But you make a great point – sometimes it helps to be given a picture of the character. 🙂 For me, it really just depends. Thanks for commenting, Justin!

I really like the cover of Kiss Kill Vanish. I also like how the Selection series covers all go well with each other, so pretty on a bookshelf. I also have City of Bones on my dislike list! I hate when there are half naked men on the cover,,,so cheesy!

Totally agree with all three of those statements! And I really, really enjoyed City of Bones, so it’s always disappointing when I like a book but dislike it’s cover. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
